New Builds and Extensions

September was an exceptionally busy and rewarding month, as I had the privilege of working on the steel design for four new residential projects. The scale of these projects varied, with steel requirements ranging from 5 tons to 15 tons. Each project posed unique challenges that required a high level of precision and collaboration.

Throughout this process, I worked closely with the returning engineers and architects—many of whom I've had the pleasure of collaborating with on previous projects. This ongoing partnership allowed us to seamlessly integrate the architectural vision with the structural requirements. The architects' designs were intricate and innovative, and my role was to ensure that the steel framework not only supported their creative ideas but also met rigorous safety and performance standards.

In one of the projects, we incorporated hollow core slabs into the flooring system. This choice proved to be highly effective, as it added significant robustness to the beams while providing an efficient load distribution solution. The collaboration with the engineers ensured that the integration of these elements was executed flawlessly, enhancing the overall performance of the structure.

Additionally, during a renovation project, we employed large UB610x305x179 beams to support the updated design specifications and increased load requirements. Again, the close collaboration with both architects and engineers was crucial in selecting the appropriate steel members to meet both aesthetic and functional needs without compromising structural integrity.

These projects reinforce the value of long-term relationships with trusted engineers and architects. Working together over time has allowed us to better understand each other's strengths and preferences, enabling us to deliver solutions that are not only technically sound but also visually compelling. It's a true testament to how collaborative teamwork can turn complex design challenges into successful outcomes.
